Jan Vertonghen impressed by Everton style

Jan Vertonghen admits that he has been impressed by Everton under Roberto Martinez this season.

Tottenham Hotspur defender Jan Vertonghen has admitted that Everton have impressed him with their style of football under Roberto Martinez.

The Belgian, who claims that he has enjoyed watching the Toffees regularly this season, insists that it is a must-win game for Tim Sherwood's men when the two sides meet at White Hart Lane on Sunday.

"It is games like this we have to win if we want to compete for fourth place," Vertonghen told reporters.

"They're a very good team with very good players. They impress me. They have a good manager. They're a good team to watch.

"I like to watch Everton all the time because they play proper football."

Spurs are currently sixth in the Premier League, one point behind Everton.
