Reading are reportedly planning a bid for Hull City midfielder Robert Koren.
The 31-year-old was one of the Tigers' stand-out performers last season, scoring 10 goals in 41 league starts.
New Hull manager Steve Bruce is said to be reluctant to sell any of his players without first assessing them in pre-season training.
However, the Royals are preparing to test the Championship club's resolve by making a £750,000 offer for Koren, according to The Mirror.
Koren is a Slovenia international and has been capped 61 times by the European minnows.
