Barcelona forward Lionel Messi reveals a desire to play alongside Tottenham Hotspur attacker Gareth Bale and Manchester United's Wayne Rooney.

Barcelona forward Lionel Messi has revealed that he wants to play with Tottenham Hotspur attacker Gareth Bale and Manchester United's Wayne Rooney.

The Argentine, who has won the Ballon d'Or on four separate occasions, has admitted, however, that Barcelona will find it difficult to sign the Premier League duo.

"They are two top players. You always want to play with the best, but I think it would be very difficult for them to join Barca. They are already at great clubs," the 25-year-old told reporters at the launch of 'Team Messi'.

It has been widely suggested that Bale will depart Spurs this summer, with his performances attracting the interest of a host of European clubs.

Meanwhile, rumours of a Rooney departure have gathered pace after the forward was left out of Manchester United's Champions League defeat to Real Madrid on Tuesday.
