Premier League Team of the Week - Harry Kane, Mason Mount, Son Heung-min

Sports Mole selects its Premier League Team of the Week, including Harry Kane, Mason Mount and Son Heung-min.

The latest round of Premier League fixtures is done and dusted, with Manchester City still leading the way at the summit after playing out a pulsating 2-2 draw with second-placed Liverpool at the Etihad.

Chelsea ensured that they remained in the driving seat for third place by thrashing a lacklustre Southampton 6-0, while Tottenham Hotspur held onto fourth spot after a 4-0 thumping of Aston Villa.

Arsenal once again slipped up in the race for Champions League football with a 2-1 home loss to Brighton & Hove Albion, while Manchester United went down 1-0 to relegation-threatened Everton.

West Ham United suffered a 2-0 London derby defeat to Brentford amid their Europa League duties, and Wolverhampton Wanderers' European hopes suffered a blow in a 1-0 loss to Newcastle United.

Elsewhere, Norwich City ran out 2-0 winners in the basement battle with Burnley, Leicester City ended Crystal Palace's momentum with a 2-1 win, and Leeds United secured a dominant 3-0 win over Watford.

Here, Sports Mole selects its Team of the Week for the latest round of Premier League fixtures.

DEFENCE

Amid suggestions that his England number one spot is under threat, Jordan Pickford kept up his strong club form for Everton during the visit of Man United, coming up with four vital saves and two punches to play a massive part in a massive result for the Toffees.

Despite helping out Pickford on the left-hand side of the defence, Vitaly Mykolenko just had to be included in this XI and has been shifted to the right-hand side for the purposes of the team. One can barely imagine how difficult it must be for the Ukrainian to focus on football right now, but he kept United's attack quiet by winning all five of his ground duels, making four clearances, three tackles and two interceptions.

Tottenham's Serie A transfer business has proven hugely successful so far, and Cristian Romero once again put in an exemplary showing in the win at Villa Park, making eight clearances, six tackles and providing the pre-assist to Harry Kane for Spurs' third goal on the day from Son Heung-min.

Leeds' bright attacking forces understandably took most of the plaudits at Vicarage Road, but Liam Cooper's contribution at the back did not go unnoticed, as the 30-year-old won all seven of his aerial duels alongside five interceptions, three tackles and three clearances.

Finally, Mykolenko finds himself on the right-hand side of our backline in order to accommodate Marcos Alonso, who took all of eight minutes to light the blue touch paper against Southampton with a drilled effort, and he was unfortunate not to end the game with an assist to his name after making five key passes.

MIDFIELD

The new hairstyle led to a new wave of confidence for Mason Mount on the St Mary's pitch, with the Chelsea playmaker picking out the corner with a long-range effort before being in the right place at the right time to double his tally, while he also notched another assist with a cheeky flick for Alonso's opener in a dazzling display.

While Arsenal's midfield was more or less non-existent in the opening 45 against Brighton, Seagulls lynchpin Enock Mwepu was here, there and everywhere and produced the beautifully-taken side-footed effort which handed his side all three points, while he also picked out Leandro Trossard for the game's opening goal, made six interceptions and succeeded with all three of his dribble attempts at the Emirates.

Facing an in-form Crystal Palace side amid a busy European period seemingly spelled trouble for Leicester City, but Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall's rapid rise to stardom continued on Sunday, with the 23-year-old threading a delightful pass into the path of Ademola Lookman for his goal before ensuring the three points with an equally sublime finish into the top corner.

ATTACK

We were truly spoiled for choice with attacking options for this Team of the Week, and it is normally Antonio Conte's Tottenham giving us this selection headache nowadays. With a stunning hat-trick at Villa Park to keep Spurs in the driving seat for Champions League football, Son Heung-min was the first name in the XI.

Son's prolific partnership with striker Harry Kane is showing no signs of stopping anytime soon, and while the England captain did not find the back of the net on Saturday, he claimed two assists with two deft headers to send Son away and posted a 93% pass accuracy from his deeper role.

Kane's contributions for Tottenham have dwarfed those of Timo Werner for Chelsea, but the German enjoyed his finest hour in a Chelsea shirt with a well-taken brace against Southampton, although he would have felt that he should have taken the match ball home having also struck the post three times on the day. Thankfully, the lack of ruthlessness that Chelsea fans have become accustomed to seeing from Werner did not prove costly in the Blues' rout, and he will certainly hope to see that showing act as the catalyst for better things to come.
