Report: Jens Lehmann heading back to Arsenal in coaching capacity

Jens Lehmann could reportedly return to Arsenal as part of the coaching setup, as the Gunners continue to shake things up behind the scenes.

Arsenal are looking to bring former goalkeeper Jens Lehmann back to the club as a first-team coach, according to a report.

The 43-year-old spent a combined five years in North London and was a part of the famous Invincibles side in 2003-04 - the last time the Gunners lifted the Premier League trophy.

Sky Sports News claims that Arsenal will hand Lehmann a place among their backroom staff, but current goalkeeping coach Gerry Peyton is to retain his position.

Lehmann featured 200 times for the English outfit between 2003 and 2008, before returning for a short-term spell in March 2011 and making one further appearance due to an injury crisis between the sticks.

Arsenal are also expected to appoint Australian fitness expert Darren Burgess as part of a reshuffle behind the scenes.
