Sunderland reportedly want to sign Manchester City striker John Guidetti on loan until the end of the season.
The 20-year-old, who has only played a handful of games for City's first team, scored 20 goals in 23 appearances for Feyenoord during a loan spell in the Netherlands last season.
However, the Swedish international is currently sidelined with a thigh problem.
Black Cats boss Martin O'Neill believes that Guidetti can help cure his side's goalscoring problems, according to The Mirror.
Sunderland have scored 13 goals in 14 Premier League games this season, with Steven Fletcher netting six of those.
