Manchester United are reportedly willing to stick with manager Erik ten Hag until at least late November, despite the Red Devils' poor start to the Premier League term.

Manchester United have reportedly decided to keep faith in Erik ten Hag despite a difficult start to the new season.

The Red Devils suffered their second loss of the Premier League campaign on Sunday afternoon, when arch rivals Liverpool visited the Theatre of Dreams.

Following two Casemiro mistakes in the middle of the park, Reds winger Luis Diaz managed to find the net twice for Arne Slot's new-look side.

Things got even worse for the Red Devils in the second period, when an error from Kobbie Mainoo led to Mohamed Salah making the net ripple, putting the game beyond reach for the hosts.

For a seventh straight match, Liverpool's Egyptian king Salah scored at Old Trafford, cementing his legacy as one of the club's greatest-ever players.

Man United 'keep faith' in Ten Hag despite Liverpool defeat

According to Football Insider, Manchester United have made a decision on the short-term future of Ten Hag following the weekend's loss to Liverpool.

The report states that the Dutchman is in no "immediate danger" of being relieved of his duties as head coach at the Theatre of Dreams, despite a less-than-ideal start to the campaign.

It is understood that Man United's ownership are willing to give Ten Hag until at least late November to turn the club's fortunes around on the pitch.

With summer signings such as Matthijs de Ligt, Joshua Zirkzee and Manuel Ugarte yet to fully settle on the red side of Manchester, the Red Devils are looking to be patient with their decision over the manager's future.

Following the first international break of the season, Man United return to Premier League action with a trip to newly-promoted Southampton on September 14.

Crucial period for Ten Hag

After a review into the team's performance last season, Man United's hierarchy decided to hand Ten Hag a one-year contract extension at Old Trafford.

Now contracted to the Red Devils until 2026, the Dutchman is battling to see out his terms and bring success back to club who once dominated the English game.

A trip to St Mary's on September 14 to face Southampton will be viewed as a must-win match by most supporters, with the embarrassment of an EFL Cup exit to League One Barnsley a possibility three days later.
