Real Madrid forward Joselu is reportedly set to turn down the opportunity to join Manchester United in the summer transfer window.

Real Madrid forward Joselu is reportedly expected to reject the chance to join Manchester United this summer.

Joselu is currently on loan at Real Madrid after impressing the Spanish giants with his goalscoring exploits since returning to his homeland in 2019.

The forward netted 36 goals in 110 league appearances for Alaves, before he scored 16 goals in 34 La Liga games for Espanyol last season.

Although he was unable to keep Espanyol in the top flight, Joselu was presented with the chance to join Real Madrid on a season-long loan deal.

Joselu has proven to be a useful asset to Carlo Ancelotti's side this term, registering 13 goals across 39 competitive matches.

Joselu facing an uncertain future

The Spaniard is keen to extend his stay at the Santiago Bernabeu, with Los Blancos holding the option to convert his loan move into a permanent transfer.

However, it is currently unclear whether Real Madrid will take up that option, especially with Kylian Mbappe expected to arrive when his Paris Saint-Germain contract expires at the end of the season.

With Joselu's future yet to be decided, it was recently reported that Man United were interested in bringing him to Old Trafford.

According to Fichajes, Joselu remains determined to stay with Real Madrid and is set to turn down the chance to join Man United ahead of the 2024-25 campaign.

The 34-year-old has previously played in the Premier League for Stoke City and Newcastle United, but he appears to be in no rush to return to the English top flight.

Man United keen to strengthen their forward options

With Joselu reluctant to change his stance, the 20-time English champions will have to look elsewhere in their search to recruit a new striker.

Anthony Martial is set to depart when his contract expires in June, which would leave Rasmus Hojlund as Man United's only senior centre-forward option.

Hojlund has fared reasonably well in his first season with the club, recovering from a slow start to net seven goals in his last seven Premier League appearances.

While Hojlund is expected to remain Man United's first-choice striker for next season, the Red Devils will still be looking to bring in cover to provide the manager with an alternative option in the final third.
