Incoming Roma boss Jose Mourinho is reportedly eyeing a reunion with Manchester United goalkeeper Sergio Romero ahead of next season.

Manchester United goalkeeper Sergio Romero is reportedly wanted by former boss Jose Mourinho at Roma.

Romero is third in the goalkeeping pecking order at Old Trafford behind David de Gea and new first-choice stopper Dean Henderson.

The Argentina international has yet to play a minute this campaign and is set to leave in the summer when his contract expires.

According to The Telegraph, Roma are among the clubs eyeing the 34-year-old - who has an Italian passport - on a free transfer.

Mourinho, who will replace Paulo Fonseca as Roma head coach at the end of the season, had an excellent relationship with Romero during their time together at Old Trafford.

United are expected to replace third-choice keeper Romero with Tom Heaton, who is also available on a free after two seasons with Aston Villa.
