Real Madrid reject huge Federico Valverde offer?

Real Madrid reportedly rejected a lucrative offer to part ways with midfielder Federico Valverde earlier in the summer transfer window.

Real Madrid have reportedly informed any interested clubs that they have no interest in selling Federico Valverde.

Throughout this summer, head coach Carlo Ancelotti has insisted that the European champions would not be conducting any major business after signing Antonio Rudiger and Aurelien Tchouameni.

The Italian backed that claim up by saying that he was happy with his squad, but the situation changed when Manchester United made their move for Casemiro.

After a nine-year spell at the Santiago Bernabeu and given the amount of money on the table, Casemiro and Real made the decision to part ways after a hugely fruitful partnership.

As it stands, Ancelotti has again reiterated that he is satisfied with the options available to him for the middle of the pitch.

That includes Valverde who, despite often being used on the right flank, is still regarded as a world-class central midfielder by his boss and club officials.

According to journalist Tomas Gonzalez-Martin, that has led to Los Blancos rejecting bids of up to €90m (£75.74m) in recent months.

Real have allegedly informed at least one unnamed club that the 24-year-old is not for sale for any price, a stance which appears unlikely to change given the £60m which has been generated through the departure of Casemiro.

The Uruguay international has continued to be deployed on the right-hand side of the attack in the opening two La Liga fixtures of the season.

He scored the fourth goal on Saturday evening as Real powered to a 4-1 victory over Celta Vigo, making it successive wins for the defending champions.

Valverde now has a total of seven goals and eight assists from his 151 appearances for Real, 93 of which have come from the starting lineup.

Real remain in a strong position when it comes to negotiating any further offers in the future with the versatile player still having five years left on his contract.

That extension was penned on August 24 in 2021.
