Spain boss Luis Enrique has insisted that Gavi is "fine" after taking a blow to the face during Thursday's World Cup 2022 qualification clash with Greece.
The Barcelona midfielder had to be replaced in the second half of the clash in Athens due to a facial injury, immediately making him a doubt for Sunday's Group B decider with Sweden.
However, Enrique branded the 17-year-old "a beast" and insisted that he was "fine" when asked for an update following the 1-0 victory over Greece.
"He's a beast, a strong dude. The blow isn't worrisome, he's fine," Enrique told reporters.
Gavi, who became Spain's youngest ever international last month, has broken into the Barcelona first team this season, making 14 appearances in all competitions.
The Catalan giants are allegedly confident of soon being able to announce a new long-term contract for the youngster amid the recent speculation surrounding his future.
