Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Braut Haaland remains a leading transfer target for Barcelona, according to a report.

Barcelona have reportedly not given up hope of bringing Borussia Dortmund forward Erling Braut Haaland to Camp Nou during this summer's transfer window.

The Norway international is expected to leave BVB in the upcoming market, with a £67m release clause in his contract in Germany due to become active.

Manchester City have seemingly emerged as the favourites to sign the 21-year-old, although Real Madrid are still believed to be firmly in the picture for his signature.

Barcelona's financial problems had seemingly ruled them out of the race, but according to Mundo Deportivo, the Catalan giants are still competing for the in-demand centre-forward.

The report claims that Xavi's side are prepared to pay the release clause in Haaland's contract, in addition to offering the Norwegian a high salary, but the money on offer would be less than what he could earn at Man City.

Barcelona are allegedly hopeful that Haaland will choose the project at Camp Nou over a move lucrative move elsewhere.

The striker, who has had his injury problems during the 2021-22 campaign, has scored 80 goals and registered 21 assists in 82 appearances for Dortmund since arriving from Red Bull Salzburg in January 2020.
