Borussia Dortmund have reportedly identified Eintracht Frankfurt forward Andre Silva as an alternative to Erling Braut Haaland.
The progression of the young Norwegian will inevitably lead to transfer offers which could tempt Dortmund into selling their most prized asset.
In order to offset any disappointment felt by the departure of the 20-year-old, Dortmund officials will require a replacement with a similar record to Haaland.
According to Bild, that has led to interest in Silva, who has contributed 24 goals and four assists in the Bundesliga this season.
The Portugal international is also said to be available for a fee in the region of £35m, putting Dortmund in a position where they would generate a substantial profit.
Manchester United are also monitoring the situation with Silva having just over two years remaining on his contract.
