Tim Sherwood has compared his position at Tottenham Hotspur to that of a supply teacher ahead of the final game of the Premier League season.
The manager took over following Andre Villas-Boas's dismissal last year, but is expected to be replaced at the end of the campaign.
In his pre-match press conference, he said: "People will always judge on what I've come in and done. It's imperative to have a pre-season and bed your ideas in. And also I'm doing it with a lot of uncertainty around my future.
"If you have a supply teacher who comes into your school, sometimes they're not treated with the respect that a headmaster is."
Spurs face Aston Villa on Sunday.
