Pepe Mel unsure of West Bromwich Albion future

West Bromwich Albion manager Pepe Mel is unsure if he will stay at the club next season.

West Bromwich Albion boss Pepe Mel has admitted that he is unsure whether he will be allowed to continue in his role next season.

The Spaniard watched on as the Baggies lost at home to Stoke City this afternoon, a result that saw them finish 17th in the Premier League table.

However, despite avoiding relegation this year, Mel suggested that the Black Country outfit will need more recruits to compete in the top flight next season.

He told BBC Radio 5 Live: "A lot of work needs doing now. Ten or 11 players are out of contract, so we need new players. I have no idea about my future.

"I would like to be here. I am going to meet the chairman within the next week."

Mel has been linked with a return to Spain in recent weeks, with Malaga mentioned as a possible option for the former Real Betis manager.
