Wolverhampton Wanderers will be attempting to end a 30-year streak when they face Newcastle United at St James' Park on Friday evening.

Wolverhampton Wanderers will be looking to end a 30-year streak when they square off against Newcastle United in the Premier League on Friday night.

Having won three of their last four fixtures in the top flight, Wolves remain in the hunt for the European places, the current gap to sixth-placed West Ham United standing at two points.

Moving into that position will be top priority when they take to the pitch at St James' Park, and Bruno Lage's side also have a chance to record a double over the Magpies this campaign.

Should Wolves prevail in the North East, it will represent the first time since 1991-92 that they have defeated Newcastle both home and away.

Furthermore, the West Midlands outfit would also be ending a 68-year wait for such an occurrence in the top flight, the last double in the first tier coming in 1953-54.

Wolves posted a 2-1 victory over Newcastle when the teams last met in October, Hwang Hee-chan netting two of his five Premier League goals of the season during that fixture.
