Wolverhampton Wanderers complete the signing of 18-year-old winger Enso Gonzalez on a five-year deal from Paraguayan side Club Libertad.

Wolverhampton Wanderers have completed the signing of Enso Gonzalez from Paraguayan side Club Libertad.

The 18-year-old has put pen to paper on a five-year contract at Molineux, subject to a work permit, keeping him at the club until 2028.

Gonzalez becomes Wolves' fifth signing of the summer, following Matheus Cunha, Boubacar Traore, Matt Doherty and Tom King through the door.

If he gains a work permit in time, the young forward could be in contention to make his debut when Wolves visit Crystal Palace in the Premier League on Sunday.

"This is a transfer we've worked on for a while and we're delighted to have Enso joining us," Wolves sporting director Matt Hobbs told the club website.

"He's an exciting, young player, who will fit in well with our dressing room and within the DNA we're trying to create. We wanted a front player who could play across the line and give us something different, and Enso is the name our recruitment team pushed.

"His creativity stood out, playing forward, being aggressive in possession and doing his work out of possession, but for me it was more what he does offensively.

"Most players do the other side of the work if you're getting the right sort of people, but with Enso I'm excited to see what he gives us going forward."

Gonzalez, who becomes the first Paraguayan player to sign for Wolves, can play on either wing or behind the striker, and enjoyed a breakthrough campaign for Club Libertad last term.

The 5ft 7in Asuncion-born attacker made his debut for Libertad in September of last year and quickly established himself as a first-team regular both domestically and in the Copa Libertadores, going on to make 39 appearance in total for the club.
