Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka has reportedly remained as a transfer target for Roma ahead of the summer window.
Throughout last year's equivalent, Xhaka was frequently linked with a switch to Stadio Olimpico after the appointment of Jose Mourinho.
However, with the two clubs failing to reach a compromise over a fee, Xhaka ultimately remained at the Emirates Stadium, where he has contributed to an improved campaign.
Should Arsenal earn a return to the Champions League, the Switzerland international may prefer to stay in North London for at least another 12 months.
Nevertheless, according to Calciomercato, Roma intend to return for the 29-year-old ahead of the 2022-23 season.
The report suggests that Mourinho is expected to prioritise a bid for Xhaka, who will have two years remaining on his contract come the summer.
Arsenal are said to have set Xhaka's asking price at €15m (£12.6m) when discussions were held last year.
