Barcelona are reportedly closing in on an agreement for Ajax defender Noussair Mazraoui, who would move to Camp Nou on a free transfer.

Barcelona are reportedly confident of wrapping up a deal for Ajax defender Noussair Mazraoui.

Despite the prospect of using a big-money loan to assist with at least one major deal this summer, Barcelona continue to target a number of potential free agents.

Mazraoui falls into that category, and it appears that the Catalan giants are ready to push through the transfer of the 24-year-old.

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Barcelona believe that they will eventually edge out Bayern Munich for the Morocco international.

Mazraoui, who has made 29 appearances for Ajax this campaign, allegedly stands to earn up to €5m per season once bonuses are taken into account.

The player's agent Mino Raiola has allegedly indicated to Barcelona that they stand a better chance of winning the race for Erling Braut Haaland, one of his other clients, if they also bring in Mazraoui.
