British billionaire Sir Jim Ratcliffe is reportedly preparing to restructure his offer to purchase Manchester United.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe is allegedly preparing to restructure his offer to purchase Manchester United, with the British billionaire still intent on completing a takeover of the club.

The owner and founder of the INEOS group recently said that failing to buy the Red Devils at this stage was not an option, but he is believed to be behind Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani in the pecking order.

Almost a year has passed since the Glazers first revealed that they were willing to enter into discussions over a potential sale of the 20-time English champions.

The takeover process has stalled in recent months, but it is believed that Sheikh Jassim is preparing to launch a fresh offer in the hope of finally winning the race.

The Qatari banker is thought to be willing to move closer to the asking price set by the Glazer family, which is believed to be in the region of £6bn.

However, according to The Mirror, Ratcliffe is refusing to give up, with the Brit currently preparing to restructure his offer in a bid to finally end the saga.

Ratcliffe, thus far, has not been looking to complete a full takeover, instead wanting a controlling stake, with a 100% purchase occurring after three years.

Sheikh Jassim, however, is looking for an immediate takeover, with the Qatari making it clear that extra funds will be committed to improving Old Trafford and the Carrington training complex.

Man United's facilities are no longer the best in class, with the likes of Manchester City, Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal ahead of them when it comes to their stadiums.

As it stands, the details surrounding Ratcliffe's new offer are yet to be revealed, but any bid would be a sixth from the businessman.

Man United continue to have problems behind the scenes, with Antony on a leave of absence in Brazil while he addresses the allegations of abuse against him.

Meanwhile, Jadon Sancho is seemingly still refusing to apologise to head coach Erik ten Hag, with the Englishman banished from all first-team facilities.

The Red Devils have managed to record back-to-back wins, though, beating Burnley 1-0 in the Premier League on Saturday evening before recording a 3-0 win over Crystal Palace in the third round of the EFL Cup on Tuesday.

Ten Hag's side will now be looking to make it three victories in a row when they host Palace in the league on Saturday in a repeat of the League Cup fixture.
