West Ham United slip to 17th in the Premier League table following their 3-0 defeat at the hands of Brighton & Hove Albion in Friday night's clash at the London Stadium.

West Ham United have succumbed to a 3-0 defeat at the hands of Brighton & Hove Albion in Friday night's Premier League clash at the London Stadium.

The visitors took the lead after just 10 minutes with the first meaningful chance of the game when a free kick by Pascal Gross saw Glenn Murray ghost between Winston Reid and Michail Antonio before flicking a header past Joe Hart.

West Ham clicked after the restart, with Arthur Masuaku, Pedro Obiang and Javier Hernandez weighing in with a number of chances against their opponents, who were content to sit back and invite pressure.

On the stroke of half time, however, Brighton made the Hammers pay for their wasted chances as they doubled their advantage through Jose Izquierdo, who cut in from the left and unleashed a curling effort which Hart failed to keep out.

Slaven Bilic's charges then gave away a penalty in the 75th minute when Pablo Zabaleta brought Murray down with a rash challenge, and the veteran Seagulls striker made no mistake from the spot, rifling down the middle to make sure of all three points.

The result sees West Ham slip to 17th in the Premier League table, while Brighton have climbed to 10th place.
