Enrico Preziosi says that Davide Ballardini will remain as the Genoa coach.

Genoa president Enrico Preziosi has said that he will not sack coach Davide Ballardini.

Preziosi had a two-hour meeting with the Italian tactician following the team's 1-1 draw with Atalanta in Serie A on Saturday.

"For the moment nothing will happen, so you can relax," he told journalists. "We cleared the air a bit.

"I can say that Ballardini has never been in doubt. There are five games left, we will carry on like this."

Genoa are currently second from bottom in the league table.
