Simon Grayson has revealed that Leeds United director Peter Lorimer told him to sell striker Luciano Becchio.
The Huddersfield Town boss was sacked from his role at Leeds in February.
Grayson told BBC Radio Leeds: "Peter Lorimer slaughtered me in his newspaper column and that was different to what he had said privately.
"Two or three days before I left the club he was telling me to sell Luciano Becchio but he never put that in his column.
"I left the club in a better place than I found it and if you do that then you can count yourself as successful."
Becchio has 13 goals in all competitions for Leeds this season.
Huddersfield host Leeds in the Championship tomorrow lunchtime.
