Sports Mole takes an in-depth look at how Liverpool could line up for Saturday's Premier League clash with Brentford.

Liverpool attacker Mohamed Salah is poised to make his Reds comeback when the Premier League leaders travel to Brentford for Saturday's lunchtime kickoff.

The Egypt international has not played for Jurgen Klopp's side since New Year's Day owing to the Africa Cup of Nations and a muscular injury, but he returned to full training earlier this week.

Jurgen Klopp said in his pre-game press conference that Salah is "in contention" to play, while he also confirmed the returns of Alisson Becker and Joe Gomez, both of whom sat out last weekend's win over Burnley due to illness.

However, on Friday evening, reports emerged claiming that Alisson had been struck down by a hamstring problem, so Caoimhin Kelleher can look forward to a second successive Premier League start.

The Reds' rearguard ranks will be strengthened by Ibrahima Konate's return from suspension, and Conor Bradley - who has missed two games due to his father's death - has also been pictured in training this week.

Bradley's return would be especially timely, as Trent Alexander-Arnold suffered a recurrence of a previous knee injury against Burnley, and the vice-captain is set to miss Saturday's game and next weekend's EFL Cup final with Chelsea at Wembley.

Joel Matip (knee), Ben Doak (knee), Stefan Bajcetic (calf), Thiago Alcantara (hip) and Dominik Szoboszlai (thigh) are keeping Alexander-Arnold company in the treatment room, and given his exceptional form before his bereavement, Bradley should be given the nod over Gomez to deputise for the Englishman.

Konate's return means that Jarell Quansah can expect to drop down to the bench, but an unchanged midfield trident of Wataru Endo, Curtis Jones and Alexis Mac Allister ought to start Saturday's game.

With all of Darwin Nunez, Diogo Jota and Luis Diaz netting in the beating of Burnley, Klopp may see no reason to tinker with his attacking formula even if Salah is fit to return; a spot on the bench may therefore await the winger as he builds his fitness back up.

Liverpool possible starting lineup:
Kelleher; Bradley, Konate, Van Dijk, Robertson; Jones, Endo, Mac Allister; Jota, Nunez, Diaz
