Former Liverpool midfielder Jamie Redknapp does not believe that Rickie Lambert will be allowed to leave Anfield on transfer deadline day.
The England international joined Liverpool from Southampton last summer, but has struggled for first-team football on Merseyside.
Aston Villa have been strongly linked with a move, but Redknapp has claimed that Brendan Rodgers cannot afford to let the striker leave.
"It is difficult to get the right player in. There are not that many options out there," Redknapp told Sky Sports News.
A host of other clubs are said to be monitoring proceedings.
