Manuel Pellegrini not concerned by Chelsea's Premier League lead

Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini suggests that he is not too worried about being five points behind Chelsea after six Premier League games.

Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini has suggested that he is not too concerned about Chelsea's lead at the top of the Premier League table, but admits that it is "not good" to be trailing their rivals.

The reigning English champions are currently five points behind Chelsea after six league games, while Jose Mourinho's side are yet to be beaten.

City went on a three-game winless run before securing a 4-2 victory over Hull City at the KC Stadium last weekend.

"We are just starting," Pellegrini said in today's press conference. "It's not good to be five points behind Chelsea but we have one point more than last year.

"Last season we didn't win the first three games away and Arsenal had six more points than us. It's not good to be five points behind but the important thing is to play the way we did against Hull last week."

City will take on Aston Villa in the Midlands tomorrow.
