Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino is reportedly planning for life without Christian Eriksen and has been for most of the summer transfer window.

Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino is reportedly planning for a future without wantaway playmaker Christian Eriksen.

Less than 24 hours remain in the summer transfer window and Spurs are understood to be scrambling for a possible replacement for the Dane, who has been linked with Manchester United, Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid.

Eriksen reportedly prefers the idea of a move to Spain over Old Trafford, and The Mirror claims that Spurs are happy to let him go if they can source a replacement.

Pochettino is thought to have removed the 27-year-old, who only has one year remaining on his contract, from his long-term plans after Eriksen's declaration that he was ready to "try something new" earlier this summer.

Spurs will still be able to sell players to foreign clubs beyond Thursday's 5pm transfer deadline, with Spain's window not closing until September 2.

However, the Champions League runners-up will not be able to bring in any replacements beyond the English deadline and have therefore been linked with moves for Paulo Dybala, Philippe Coutinho, Giovani Lo Celso and Bruno Fernandes inside the past 24 hours.
