Manchester United '£10m short in Bruno Fernandes bid'

Manchester United and Sporting Lisbon are reportedly £10m apart in their valuation of midfielder Bruno Fernandes, with talks said to have stalled between the clubs.

Manchester United are reportedly £10m short of Sporting Lisbon's valuation of midfielder Bruno Fernandes, with negotiations said to have stalled over a deal this month.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side have been pursuing the 25-year-old midfielder throughout the January window in an attempt to bolster their options following injuries to Scott McTominay and Paul Pogba.

According to Sky Sports News, United and Sporting are still £10m apart in their negotiations, with Jorge Mendes said to have flown into Manchester in order to have talks with Ed Woodward.

The reports adds that Sporting were previously optimistic a deal had been reached at their valuation of £55m, but the Old Trafford club are hoping for a deal closer to the £42m they offered.

Talks are now said to have stalled, with no plans as of yet for them to reopen before the end of the window.

Fernandes has impressed for Sporting this season in both the Primeira Liga and the Europa League, scoring 15 goals in all competitions.
