Montpellier HSC's club president Louis Nicollin has fuelled speculation that star striker Olivier Giroud could be on his way out of the club.
The 25-year-old has bagged 12 goals in his first season in Ligue 1 and looks set to be included in Laurent Blanc's 23-man Euro 2012 squad.
Giroud has pledged his future to Montpellier should they qualify for next season's Champions League.
However, Nicollin has said that it will not be easy to keep his star man happy.
"If he finishes top scorer in the championship and goes to the Euro's with France, how are we going to keep him?" said Nicollin.
"If he wants to join a big club and we decide it's in our interest, we can't keep him against his will."
Giroud joined Montpellier from Ligue 2 club Tours in January 2010 for a fee of €2.6million (£2.1million).
