Newcastle United striker Emmanuel Riviere feels that his side's mistakes cost them a point in their Premier League clash against Swansea City on Saturday.
John Carver's men took the lead at St James' Park through Ayoze Perez, but the Swans hit back with three goals from Nelson Oliveira, Gylfi Sigurdsson and Jack Cork to condemn the Magpies to their seventh defeat on the spin, despite Siem de Jong's late goal.
"We are very disappointed because we played well, we worked hard and wanted to win, but sometimes that doesn't happen and this time we were unlucky," Riviere told the club's official website.
"We did everything - we ran, we fought - but we were not able to get the win and so are very disappointed.
"I think we deserved something but we made mistakes, and when you make mistakes you cannot win. We have to work hard to make sure those mistakes do not happen again."
Newcastle are 14th in the Premier League table, five points clear of the relegation zone.
