Vicente del Bosque pleased with Spain performance

Spain boss Vicente del Bosque praises his side following Monday's 5-1 win over Macedonia in their opening Euro 2016 qualifier.

Spain boss Vicente del Bosque has revealed that he was pleased with his side's performance in their opening Euro 2016 qualifier against Macedonia on Monday evening.

La Roja recorded a 5-1 victory in Valencia, with Sergio Ramos, Paco Alcacer, Sergio Busquets, David Silva and Pedro all on the scoresheet for the European champions.

"We know we lost credibility at the World Cup and we have to go and recover that and we do that on the field, playing well and scoring points for Euro 2016," AS reports Del Bosque as saying.

"Macedonia didn't sit back and even used three strikers. They came forward and didn't keep people behind the ball and they could have scored more."

Spain failed to make it out of the group stages at the 2014 World Cup.
