Brendan Rodgers unconcerned by relegation scrap

Brendan Rodgers says that he is only looking "upwards" when it comes to Swansea City's Premier League season.

Swansea City manager Brendan Rodgers has admitted that he is not concentrating on the possibility of the Swans falling into the fight for survival in the Premier League.

While the Welsh side sit 11 points clear of the drop zone, Rodgers has led his side to three successive defeats in the top flight.

"I don't think about the relegation battle," the Daily Star quotes Rodgers as saying. "I really concentrate on ourselves.

"Every team down there will think they can get out but I only concentrate on Swansea. We are in a race and we are entering the final stages of the competition.

"For me it's about how high can we finish. That means looking upwards. Where we are is a great credit to the players and their approach to the game."

Swansea travel to Loftus Road tomorrow to face league strugglers Queens Park Rangers.
