Cardiff City boss Russell Slade is confident that his side will not be involved in a relegation battle in the Championship this season.
The Bluebirds fell to their third league defeat on the spin on Saturday as an own goal from Scott Malone and a strike from Chris Martin fired Derby County to a 2-0 victory at the Cardiff City Stadium.
Slade told reporters: "I'm a positive person and I don't think we are getting dragged into a relegation fight.
"We need to stop this trend of losing but I don't see why we can't go and win next week and get some momentum.
"This has been a tricky period as we go through transition with players leaving and coming in, but it's not impossible to make the play-offs. That is becoming less realistic with the points we need to catch up, but we won't give up."
Cardiff are 13th in the Championship table, seven points clear of the relegation zone.
