Newcastle United reportedly want to sign William Saliba on loan from Arsenal, in addition to their pursuit of fellow Gunners youngster Joe Willock.

Newcastle United are reportedly interested in taking Arsenal's William Saliba on loan for the 2021-22 season.

The former Saint-Etienne man is still waiting for his senior debut for the Gunners, having been restricted to appearances for the Under-23s before joining Nice on a temporary deal over the winter.

Saliba quickly established himself as an integral player for Les Aiglons with 20 appearances in Ligue 1, and Mikel Arteta is considering integrating him into his plans for the new season.

However, the Daily Mail claims that Newcastle are hopeful of taking Saliba on loan, with fellow Arsenal youngster Joe Willock playing a starring role during his stint with the Magpies last term.

The report claims that Steve Bruce wants to bolster his ranks in the heart of defence, but a deal for Celtic's Kristoffer Ajer is dead in the water, and there are no guarantees that Saliba will enjoy regular game time at Arsenal next season.

Newcastle are known to want Willock from Arsenal on a permanent deal, with Bruce vowing to test the Gunners' resolve over the £20m-rated Englishman.
