Athletic Bilbao edge past Osasuna

Athletic Bilbao maintain their 100% to the La Liga campaign with a 2-0 win over Osasuna at Anoeta Stadium.

Athletic Bilbao maintained their 100% start to the La Liga campaign on Friday evening with a 2-0 win over Osasuna.

Visitors Osasuna dominated possession at Anoeta Stadium, but they fell behind against the run of play on 31 minutes when Alejandro Arribas netted an unfortunate own goal.

Oriol Riera was twice denied an equaliser by goalkeeper Iago Herrerin, before Bilbao grabbed a second to make sure of the win nine minutes from time.

Oscar de Marcos found the bottom-right corner of the net from 16 yards to cap off a rapid counter-attack.

The win puts Bilbao top of the table. However, they have played a game more then their rivals.
