Birmingham City fail to break Sheffield Wednesday down

Birmingham City play out a goalless draw with Sheffield Wednesday in the Championship.

Birmingham City have played out a 0-0 draw with Sheffield Wednesday at St Andrews in the Championship this evening.

In a first half of very few chances, Wade Elliott came closest for the home side when his close-range effort was saved by Chris Kirkland.

Nikola Zigic also went close with a header after 18 minutes, but his effort went wide after a good cross from Christopher Burke.

In the second half, the home side continued to pepper Kirkland's goal with shots, with efforts coming in from Leroy Lita, Marlon King and Zigic.

In the end, Lee Clark's side were forced to settle for a point as Wednesday's defence held firm.
