Frank Lampard: Chelsea win "everything we wanted"

Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard says that the team's Champions League win over Galatasaray was "very controlled and very professional".

Frank Lampard has said that Chelsea's Champions League win over Galatasaray was "everything [they] wanted it to be".

The Stamford Bridge side headed into the second leg of their tie level, but scored twice in the first half to ensure a 3-1 win on aggregate and reach the quarter-finals.

"It was everything we wanted it to be. It was a tough game, we got a decent result out there and they hardly threatened," BBC Sport quotes the midfielder as saying.

"Didier Drogba had a chance right at the end but it was a very controlled and very professional performance from all of us."

So far, Chelsea are the only English side through to the last eight of the tournament, with Manchester United the only Premier League team still to complete their round-of-16 tie.
