David Moyes says that Marouane Fellaini's headbutt on Ryan Shawcross was "not acceptable".

Everton manager David Moyes has told Marouane Fellaini that his headbutt on Stoke City's Ryan Shawcross was unacceptable.

The midfielder appeared to clash with the defender on numerous occasions during the 1-1 draw at the Britannia Stadium on Saturday, with none of the incidents bringing a punishment.

However, Moyes has reviewed the footage and said that he was far from happy with the Belgium international's actions.

"I have told them in the dressing room that it is not acceptable. As a manager, I will not accept it that he does that," Moyes was quoted as saying in The Mirror.

"Some might have come in here and hid behind it and said: 'Sorry, didn't see it'. I have answered it as straight and as honestly as I possibly can. Today, it should have been a sending-off in the game, if the referee had been able to see it."

Fellaini is Everton's record signing, having been brought in from Standard Liege for £15 million in 2008.
