Abel Hernandez bemoans late lapse in concentration

Hull City striker Abel Hernandez admits to being left feeling 'disappointed' by his side's home draw with Blackburn Rovers, following a late Jordan Rhodes equaliser.

Abel Hernandez has admitted to being left disappointed by Hull City's 1-1 draw at home to Blackburn Rovers on the weekend.

The Tigers spurned the chance to close the gap on league leaders Brighton & Hove Albion by conceding late on at the KC Stadium.

Jordan Rhodes popped up in the dying stages to deny City, but Hernandez was pleased to get his own name on the scoresheet at the end of Ahmed Elmohamady's fine cross.

"It was an enjoyable game to play in but the final score wasn't great for us," he told the club's official website. "We played well for the majority of the match and managed to get in front.

"It was probably the easiest goal I have ever scored because it was such a great pass from Elmohamady and he probably deserved the goal for that. But Blackburn made it a hard match and they played well in the first 15 minutes and the last 10 minutes.

"They would probably feel that they deserved a point from the game, but it was still disappointing to see them score the late goal."

Hull meet Nottingham Forest at the City Ground on Saturday afternoon in their final fixture before the two-week international break.
