Garry Monk confident Leeds United can beat Liverpool in EFL Cup quarter-final

Leeds United manager Garry Monk is confident that his team can cause an upset against Liverpool in Tuesday night's EFL Cup quarter-final at Anfield.

Leeds United manager Garry Monk has claimed that his team will head to Anfield on Tuesday with the "belief" that they can cause an upset to Liverpool in their EFL Cup quarter-final.

The Championship outfit take on Premier League opposition after winning four of their last five league games, which has left them fifth in the table.

As for Liverpool, they sit second in the Premier League, just one point adrift of leaders Chelsea after 13 games.

Despite the Reds being unbeaten in their last 11 league fixtures, Monk is confident that his players can get the job done on Merseyside.

"We want to win, we go into each game with the mentality and belief that we can win and tomorrow is no different," Monk told LUTV.

"When you get to this stage in the competition anything can happen. It is going to be a really good test, no matter what happens it will be a great experience."

Leeds are currently eight points adrift of the top two in the Championship.
