Manchester City's Vincent Kompany: 'Groin injury is a blow'

Vincent Kompany says that it was a "blow" to suffer a groin injury against Newcastle United, but vows to be back swiftly.

Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany has vowed to come back strong following his injury "blow" during his side's opening Premier League clash.

The Belgium international suffered a groin problem - which could keep the centre-back out of action for two weeks - during City's 4-0 win over Newcastle United last night

Kompany wrote on Twitter: "Team was great. I felt great. Injury is a blow after all the hard work. I'll be back to that level in no time. Thanks for all the support!."

David Silva, Sergio Aguero, Yaya Toure and Samir Nasri made it onto the scoresheet at the Etihad last night.
