Tottenham Hotspur head coach Mauricio Pochettino has insisted that his side cannot afford to take too many risks against AS Monaco, despite the need to win the match in Monte Carlo.
Spurs could be eliminated from the Champions League should they fail to beat the Ligue 1 outfit, but while acknowledging that his players must find a way to win, he has claimed that must come by finding a balance to their play.
The 44-year-old is quoted by the Daily Mail as saying: "It's a game we must win and we must find the way how. We have in front of us Monaco, a very good team we know that. But there's more than 90 minutes to play. We always want to win.
"It doesn't mean take more or less risks. Try to be clever and follow the plan, try to win after 90 minutes, that's our challenge. It's all about balance in football. Not about taking risks or not taking risks."
If Monaco avoid defeat and Bayer Leverkusen beat CSKA Moscow, Spurs will be left fighting for a place in the Europa League.
