Stoke City boss Mark Hughes has praised goalkeeper Jakob Haugaard for his performance during the team's pre-season defeat to Everton in Singapore.
The summer signing from FC Midtjylland made a number of important saves for the Potters on Wednesday, but he could not stop them from losing on penalties in the Premier League Asia Trophy.
Hughes believes that the 23-year-old's performance went some way to showing what he is capable of against Premier League opposition.
"I thought [his performance] was excellent," the Welshman told Sky Sports News. "He made three or four really key saves for us. I think he's shown what we've seen in him. He's got a calm head, his possession is good, his distribution is good, so we're very happy with his performance, among many others."
Stoke return to action in the Premier League Asia Trophy on Saturday when they will play Singha All Star XI in a third-placed playoff.
