Swansea keeper Michel Vorm reveals that he looks at a player's eyes as they take a penalty to determine its placement.

Swansea City goalkeeper Michel Vorm has said that when he tries to save a penalty he looks at an opponent's eyes as they approach the spot.

The Dutchman is regarded as one of the Premier League's signings of the season, keeping seven clean sheets - a number bettered only by Manchester United.

Vorm has also acquired the nickname 'The Penalty Killer' because of his exploits between the sticks.

"I don't know where this Penalty Killer name came from. No-one at Utrecht called me it," he told the Daily Mail.

"I think it was maybe in the newspapers and then it got on Google.

"Now when I save a penalty it comes up. It will be an embarrassing name if people start scoring every time."

Vorm also revealed his technique when facing penalties but said that it's no big secret and "obvious".

"The eyes tell a lot. When I think I know I go across with all my life. If it is a good penalty, right in the corner like the ones Scott Sinclair takes, then you cannot stop it. If not, you have a chance.

"Yakubu beat me at Blackburn - he waits a long time before looking and that makes it hard. I have a method and it is good but there is nothing smart about it. It's obvious."

The Swans have made an encouraging start to life in the Premier League and are currently 11th.
