Wolverhampton Wanderers reportedly narrow down their search for a new manager by just considering coaches with Premier League experience.

Wolverhampton Wanderers are understood to have gone back to their original plan of appointing a new manager with Premier League experience.

The West Midlands club have been in pursuit of a new boss following their decision to sack Mick McCarthy last week.

While Alan Curbishley was the favourite to clinch the position, it is believed that the former West Ham United boss has turned down the chance to take over at Molineux.

Despite reported advances to Brighton & Hove Albion coach Gus Poyet and Reading boss Brian McDermott, it is believed that Wolves are only considering manager's with top flight experience, according to sportinglife.com.

Former Sunderland boss Steve Bruce was also a contender for the position but it is thought that the 51-year-old will also reject the job.
