Arsene Wenger rules out Mikel Arteta, Aaron Ramsey for Galatasaray clash

Aaron Ramsey and Mikel Arteta have "no chance" of recovering from injury in time to face Galatasaray on Wednesday night, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger says.

Arsene Wenger has revealed that midfielders Aaron Ramsey and Mikel Arteta have "no chance" of being fit in time for Arsenal's Champions League meeting with Galatasaray.

The pair limped off in the first-half of the Gunners' 1-1 draw against Tottenham Hotspur this evening, and are now expected to sit out the crunch group-stage clash on Wednesday night.

Asked if either would recover from injury in time, Wenger told reporters: "No chance. If it is a muscular problem I don't see how they can be fit in five or six days' time."

Arsenal are currently bottom of Group D after one match, following their 2-0 defeat at the hands of Borussia Dortmund a fortnight ago.
