Stuart Pearce reveals that Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere is unlikely to be included in the England Under-21 European Championships squad this summer.

England Under-21 manager Stuart Pearce has revealed that he will not add Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere to his squad for the upcoming European Championships.

The 50-year-old had originally wanted the Gunners star to be part of the tournament in Israel, but senior boss Roy Hodgson is keen to play the 21-year-old in a friendly against Brazil on June 2.

"We've had a chat and the information was that, probably, Jack won't be considered," the Daily Star quotes Pearce as saying. "Certainly Danny Welbeck won't be considered, they are gaining their education with the seniors."

Wilshere, who was recently sidelined for over a year with injuries, has made seven caps for the Three Lions.
