Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge plays down talk of the Reds winning the Premier League title after their 5-1 win against Arsenal.

Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge has played down talk of the Reds winning the Premier League.

Brendan Rodgers's side hammered Arsenal 5-1 at Anfield to close the gap at the top to five points, but the England international has tried to calm talk of title ambitions.

Speaking to BT Sport after the game, Sturridge said: "We're not getting too excited, there are 13 games left .

"We've got another game Wednesday (against Fulham). We'll enjoy it today, but there's another game on Wednesday as I say. Don't get too excited [is the message to fans]."

The Reds are currently fourth in the division.
