Atletico Madrid and Mallorca played out a 0-0 draw in this evening's La Liga encounter.

Atletico Madrid and Mallorca shared the points with a 0-0 draw in this evening's La Liga clash.

Alan Hutton had the first real effort of the game on 25 minutes, however, his strike didn't trouble the goalkeeper.

The home side surged forward a minute later, resulting in a header from Radamel Falcao that went just wide.

Diego Costa came close with a header on 37 minutes as Atletico began to dominate proceedings.

Falcao came close again with another headed effort on 40 minutes, but he could only direct it wide of the post.

Mallorca drove forward early on in the second half and came close through Giovani Dos Santos, though the forward couldn't find the goal.

Mario Suarez came close to doubling Atletico's lead with a great header, though the Mallorca defence was on hand to deny the effort.
