Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers believes that the Reds didn't lose out following the departure of Fernando Torres to Chelsea due to the arrival of Luis Suarez.

Liverpool manager Brendan Rogers has insisted that the Reds have found a "world-class" replacement for Fernando Torres in Luis Suarez.

The two strikers are expected to feature this Sunday when the Reds go up against their former player Torres, who joined Chelsea in January 2011, at Stamford Bridge.

"From the outside looking in, Fernando Torres did a terrific job here at Liverpool," Rodgers told the club's official website. "Especially in those first 18 months, when he was just fantastic.

"But he decided to move on and Liverpool got a world-class striker in Luis, who has been absolutely breathtaking, particularly this season in some of his play. Luis's contribution for us is fantastic. He is a world-class striker and I'm blessed to work at a great club with great players and Luis is one of them."

Liverpool head into the contest 12th in the league table, while Chelsea sit one point behind leaders Manchester United.
